Today was another beautiful day. Peter is working nights this week, so he slept in a bit this morning. While he was sleeping I stripped all the beds other than ours, gathered up all the laundry, and climbed down the ladder to take it to the laundry room. Yep, we currently have a ladder going to our basement instead of steps. We're still in the middle of our basement renovations (we move slower than molasses!!) and the current project is the stairs. We've been using the ladder arrangement for over a week now and I am so ready for the new stairs!! Peter is predicting they will be in tomorrow, so I'm just going to hope that they're in by the end of the week, since I know how life can get in the way of the best-laid plans.
When Peter was ready to get up this morning I headed out for my run. Peter got me an awesome Garmin Forerunner 305 for my birthday. I must say it has definitely helped motivate me for runs. I can plan what I want to do for a workout, schedule it on my calendar in the software, then download (upload?) it to the watch before I go. Today I tried a 'negative split' run, where I tried to run the second half faster than the first. I did 5k total in just over 30 minutes. I noticed that 5k runs are now just the 'norm,' and I don't really feel too exhausted or sore afterward. Yay!
This afternoon we had a 'home visit' with the pre-Kindergarten teacher here in town. Apparently they've had more children register for pre-K this year than can go (unless they get 2 more kids registered - then they'll split the class), so we'll find out later this summer if he's going to be going in the fall. I really hate everything being up in the air. I am supposed to be doing my internship to finish my BEd this fall as well, but have not received placement information yet. I will be in touch with the university this week and if it's not settled by week's end I'll have to make a tough decision since it's not fair to the person I have lined up to babysit to cut it any closer.
We finally got to use some personal pizza pans that Mom had given Nathan for his birthday to make supper tonight. It came with a dough mix and a sauce mix, so it was easy to throw together (although it didn't compare to a real homemade crust). I took a picture with my phone, since I'm still waiting for the camera to arrive. I can tell that these pizza pans are going to get lots of use.
After supper we played a couple games of Candyland. I'm getting more and more concerned that Hannah doesn't know her colours. We've been trying to emphasize colours in various ways for the past couple of weeks and she still can't tell us even one colour correctly! Something to keep an eye on, I guess.
Well, time to get the last munchkin to bed!
