Blessing Hannah

Yesterday we had Hannah's blessing day at church. It is a tradition in our church, following the example of Simeon blessing Jesus and his family when he was a baby (Luke 2). We were so excited to have all our family here to witness this special time and Hannah did great (I was so worried she would cry!). She didn't even make a peep when I handed her over to the pastor while he prayed for her. Apparently she was smiling at the pastor as he talked before I passed her to him but I couldn't see from my perspective.

Both our kids' names come from their Biblical counterparts (Nathan was a prophet and an adviser / friend to King David - first mentioned in 2 Samuel 7). We named Hannah after the Biblical character in 1 Samuel 1 & 2. I want them to know why / how we chose their names - because we admired and want our children to emulate the character of these specific people from the Old Testament. I would love to find some way to incorporate their Biblical heritage into a wall hanging of some sort for their rooms but haven't figured out how to do that yet.
