Dunkaroos for breakfast

Why did Nathan have Dunkaroos for breakfast? (For the uninitiated, Dunkaroos are little snack containers with cookies in one compartment and icing in which to dip the cookies in a second compartment.) This is not normal breakfast fare at our house but this morning was special - Nathan used the potty for the first time ever!

We've been slowly easing into the idea of potty training since we know we have a big move coming up and it's not the best time to go at it hard core. We typically just get him to sit on the potty when we think of it and don't stress about it too much. He loves to sit on the potty when he's fully clothed ... not so much when his diaper is off.

This morning when I got him up I could tell he needed to pee (his diaper was almost dry) so I told him if he would sit on the potty I would read him his favourite book of all time, The Topsy Turvy Kingdom. It is a long book so I hoped while we were reading it he would just go, and he did! It was so funny because he looked down with a puzzled look just before he went.

This is uncharted territory for us. Should be interesting! I'm still not going to stress about it until we're settled at Mom and Dad's, but at least now he knows what he's supposed to do on the potty!
