Peter faithfully tended it all afternoon.

Oh, except for that time he left for an hour and left me in charge ;) I think I did ok, but when he came back it somehow caught on fire. Not to worry, though, it only burned the bbq sauce.
The video told us to cook it to an internal temperature of around 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Unfortunately, since we were cooking this on a grill instead of a bbq, and since our 'bomb' was slightly smaller than the one in the video, ours only took 2 hours too cook instead of 4! So, we called our friends who were coming for supper and asked them to come a bit earlier. We stuck the baked potatoes in the microwave to finish them off, and I quickly put together a broccoli salad and got out a bowl of baby carrots on the table. Oh, and made an apple crisp for dessert (but our friends brought a cheesecake instead ... yum!)
Since everything was so rushed I didn't get a picture of the 'bomb' when it was finished until after we ate. Here is what was left. I know it doesn't look very yummy but it was good. Honest.
Was it worth all the effort (and money)? I'm not completely convinced, but Peter only used 1 package of bacon so that cut down on the cost. It definitely looked cool and was a nice way to have a 'roast' of sorts without turning on the oven. I'll keep it in mind for the future when we want something slightly different.
